Teen Theatre Festival Activities
Pre-Festival Activities
Teen Theatre Auditions: Participants are encouraged to take part in the performance auditions that may lead to their performance in the finals before the festival audience. Teens can sign up to audition in scenes, monologues and musical performances.
The Open Scenes: Anyone wishing to try their skills at putting together a scene in one day may sign up to take part in the "Open Scene" competition. All entrants will receive the same short scene to be performed before the Festival audience. The will be an award for the Best Open Scene given at the Festival Awards ceremony.
SCC Workshops: There will be a series of workshops available on the SCC campus in January to help participants prepare for their auditions. Workshop instructors will work with students in selection of an audition piece in the early segments. Later segments will focus on preparing and presenting the audition piece.
Those wishing to attend these workshops must register and pay a $10.00 fee that will be applied toward the participant’s entry fee to the Festival.
Festival Activities
Festival Orientation: The Festival is a day-long event that will begin with a Festival orientation that will acquaint the participants with the activities of the day.
Performance Auditions: Auditioners will claim their performance slots before the morning deadline on the day of the Festival. All those entered will participate in the first two rounds of auditions.

Grades 10-12:

Showcase Finals: Those who score high enough in the first 2 audition rounds will advance to the third and final round that will take place during the afternoon of the Festival. Finalists will receive pins recognizing their achievement.
Awards Ceremony: The finalists’ performances will be eligible for “Best Performance” and “Outstanding Performance” awards at the Festival Awards Ceremony. Students who do not advance to the finals are still eligible to receive “Special Merit” awards.
